Later this year, Impressions Games promises to bring you back to the good old realm, and make you lord of it. Lords of the Realm 3 is the third installment of this company's Medieval strategy series, and this time in full, vivid 3D. No longer are you going to be controlling flat, two dimensional lands. The country map, battlefields, and yes, even castles are now fully realized with the help of a whole new dimension.
Owing its style mostly to the first two games of the series, Lords 3 is a combination of turn based and real time strategy. Your overall control of your realm and everyone that lives in it is accomplished during the course of your turn. This time around, though, you must not only worry about the opposing Lords, but also your own people and even the influence of the church.
The other part of the game occurs on the battlefield. Here, players will set up their forces for a real time fight to the death. Fans of the old games will remember the huge sieges that could be laid upon an opponent?s castle. Lords of the Realm 3 is going to offer more castles, more units, and more siege weapons to crush the walls of your adversary?s fortress.
So far, things are looking up for this game. The graphics are colorful and smooth, more locations to fight over are going to be offered, and hell, there?s going to be huge 3D castles that you can plot the destruction of.
