Welcome to the Netherworld - a dark realm even the citizens of the deepest abyss fear. A cursed world below the worlds where mortals tread, where evil is king and foul beings live. It's a hidden world, and even though it's existence is doubted by some, its a place that is feared by everyone...
This is the world of Disgaea, a brand new strategy RPG from Atlus. Two years after the death of the ruler of the Netherworld, Krichevskoy, his son Lahari awakens - unaware of his father's death. The power vacuum left by the king's absence spurs a group of scheming demons to make mad grabs at the throne and take control of the Netherworld. Upon seeing this, the egocentric, self-absorbed prince, along with his underling Etna and her underlings, sets out to regain the throne and his birthright. Combining the ability to customize your army with over 150 character classes, as well as over 100 mind-blowing spells and special skills, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is looking to be a must have for strategy RPG fans. One of the key features in the game will be the new Formation Attack System that allows up to four characters to team up their attacks in battle and combine their power. The new dynamic battle system will also allow players to adjust their armies on the fly, switch characters in and out of battle almost instantly.
As with most Atlus games, the North American version will also ship with both an English and Japanese language option and will feature the song "The Invasion from Within" from the band Tsunami Bomb (www.tsunamibomb.bom), which will be available for download on Atlus' web site (www.atlus.com). The Japanese language option will also feature an unedited version of the game with all the original music and voices left intact.
Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is scheduled for release on the PS2. No date has been specified as of yet.
