The Virtua Fighter series has certainly evolved from where it started from, and there is no more reason to believe that when you take a look at Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. The latest game in the series has gotten a major tune-up, least of all in the graphics department. Say goodbye to all those jaggies and shiny combatants. Evolution boasts a much more realistic look, not only in its visuals but also in the AI department. Each character's AI is modeled after the top ranking players in Japan, and those guys are no pushover.
Cool new stuff has also been added, like new arenas, moves, and of course, the two new characters. Brad is a fierce Muay Thai Kick Boxer, and Judoka is determined to push Akira out of his throne. Gone is the Kumite Mode, but say hello to the Quest Mode. Here you can battle around the world in a series of simulated arcade tournaments to become the best fighter on Earth.
Don't be mistaken; Evolution isn't just a rehashing of an older game. The developers have taken the best fighter around and pumped it up with steroids. With over 1500 accessories to customize your fighters with, this game is sure to last as long as its predecessor did. Look for it this fall.
