FIRST LOOK:
NINTENDO EXPANDS THE ZELDA SERIES

Nintendo announces the latest offering in the best-selling Legend of Zelda series - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the Nintendo 64. Majora's Mask is a sequel to the much acclaimed 1998 hit, The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. This time, Link must race against time. Rather than having the choice to leisurely build up skills, as some RPGs allow, Majora's Mask places our hero with a very finite time limit. There are ways to 'reset' the time limit, but doing so 'undoes' many of the interactions that Link has had. NPCs will not remember who he is, and he will have to start (certain things) all over again. In addition to this time element, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask will feature some new and unique gameplay elements, such as first and third player perspectives, a unique targeting system , and powers gained by using the mask, such as the ability to transform into different characters.

The graphics will be quite stunning, in part due to the fact that Majora's Mask is the first Nintendo 64 game to require the expansion pak. This extra power is put to good use to provide a stunning, smooth look, extremely realistic environments, and spectacular special effects. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is scheduled for November 20th, and should retail at $69.95 USD.
