FIRST LOOK:
DARK, PERFECT DARK (RARE)

Looking for 'the ultimate action title'? Peter Main, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing says that Perfect Dark is the '...one game players have been waiting for.' ...and to a great degree he's correct. N64 gamers have been drooling over Perfect Dark since at least E3 '99. Then again, simply hearing that the game is made by 'Rare' is enough to put a game on many gamers' wish lists. This time, Rare drops gamers in a tale of intrigue, where they'll have to rely on raw adrenaline to comlete complex mission objectives. Along with these plot advancing missions, Perfect Dark will also have a multi-player mode with up to a total of 12 characters in game at the same time - four player controlled, and eight computer controlled. There will even be a 'counter-operative' mode which allows for one - on - one play, where one player plays as Joanna Dark, and the other gets to 'possess' the enemy characters one after the other, much like the 'agents' in the movie, Matrix. (However, the player playing Joanna Dark in this mode gets only one life.) 'Counter-Operative' mode is just one of the several built-in modes of play. These, along with the ultra-tweakable multiplayer 'combat simulator' should provide hours and hours of fun, whether you'll be playing against up to three of your friends, or playing the solo missions.
