Rockstar?s lineup this year was one of mostly ports. That isn?t to say what they had was bad. The non ported games have been eagerly anticipated, and the ports themselves are nothing to balk at.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is heading to Xbox and PC, and is looking as good, if not better, than its PS2 counterpart. Another GTA game is taking a trip to a different system, this time the PSP. GTA: Liberty City Stories will sport the original story line from the infamous PS2 game, as well as offering some new missions.
Stories is going to have some company on the PSP, as Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition is also being miniaturized for Sony?s handheld. The game is exactly the same as it was on the console, featuring the unprecedented open street racing that has made the series so popular.
The newcomers to the show this year were The Warriors and Bully. The Warriors is based on the 1979 cult classic of the same name. Players will get to fight their way across 20 miles of gang-infested streets as they try to flee the rest of New York?s underground.
Bully has been kept quiet for years, but the veil has finally been drawn back. This schoolyard game has been made with a tongue-in-cheek, and the gameplay reflects this. As a troublesome schoolboy, you?ll fight bullies, evade teachers, play tricks on other kids, and generally act as another malicious entity of Bullworth Academy.
Rockstar usually delivers solid stuff. There is no reason to expect differently from their lineup this year. They?ve covered most all of their genres, plus added some new chum to the waters, meaning that most, if not all, of their fans should be thoroughly pleased when these games hit the shelves. |
