Trisynergy had camp set up in Kentia Hall this year and they were showing off their new 3rd person action/adventure Origin of the Species behind closed doors.
The premise of Origin of the Species, (which is being developed by Nu Generation Games, some of which are former members of Core), is that you take on the role of Dirt. She's just an average girl who wears a highly animated teddy bear backpack and kicks a lot of ass. She thinks her scientist dad ran off and abandoned she and her mom when she was younger, but the truth is, her father had actually used her as a test subject in the DNA mutations project he was working on. So, Dirt has all of these fighting powers, special moves and such, which she'll need when battling the huge insects that begin attacking. We are talking Area 51 action, a secret government project called G.I.ants, big bugs and lots of firepower.
You'll choose one of four classes: Sharpshooting, Stealth, Exploration and Aggression. Then, as you progress, you'll be awarded style points in lieu of XP. As you move along in the game, more and more of Dirt's genetic mutations will manifest themselves in grander special moves such as the Spin Accelerator, where she spins in a circle so fast she alters time, and the TK Throw, where she can move objects without actually picking them up. And she'll need all of her abilities when the enormo insects take over.
We'll have more on this one as information is released. |
