Coming out this October for the PS2 will be NBA '06, the latest iteration in the NBA franchise from 989 Sports. Only this time, instead of your typical basketball game, 989 cranks things up a notch doing something brand new. There's a mode called NBA Life Volume 1, and in this mode, you create your player and drive his story along. It's focus is on your player and how he interacts with other players, coaches, agents, family, rivals - you name it. You'll have alll the ups and downs of an actual NBA player, including press conferences, injuries, trades and endorsements, all the while striving to make a name for yourself.
There will be goals, both optional and required, to fulfill during gameplay. There will be mini-games and such to build up your character's level of experience. Think RPG + sports sim with a dash of adventure. All this, in addition to the traditional NBA basketball game, giving you about 30+ hours of gameplay and 200+ scenes in NBA Life alone. NBA '06 slams onto courts this fall. |
