Function: What a brilliant invention the Worm Light is. Quite simply, it?s a small light that plugs into the Link Cable port on your Game Boy, allowing a bright light to focus on your screen. It illuminates your screen to provide much better visibility, without creating an obnoxious glare. That?s not to say that no glare whatsoever is present, but I?d much prefer to have my Worm Light than to be without. Did I mention it is flexible, much like a very small Snake Light? This allows you to adjust it to the exact spot on your screen where you need it the most. I really can?t imagine why no one thought of this sooner, but leave it to Nyko to provide us with one more accessory that we just can?t live without. And I truly mean that. Since I first tried the Worm Light, I?ve used it every time I use my GBC.
Performance: The Worm Light is constructed of clear plastic very similar to the Shock ?n? Rock, which makes it a pretty durable piece. Of course, it is also a light, so I don?t suggest banging it around. Also, it is thinly constructed, so as to be flexible (the arm of the light looks very much like a stiff phone cord), so I wouldn?t suggest trying to double it over or anything. It is small and seems to travel quite well -- I know mine has made many a journey with me. There is really no learning curve. Plug it in and let there be light. You?ll be wondering why a person as intelligent as yourself didn?t get one sooner! The device runs off of energy from your batteries, battery pack, or A/C adapter. Simple as it gets.

Drawbacks & Problems:: The only problem I encountered (and it?s a small one) was the fact that the light didn?t illuminate the entire screen. The coil arm is adjustable to direct this light, but at times, I would have preferred the entire screen to have been lit. Nyko has recently addressed this issue and another version of the Worm Light is out on the market with a more diffused light. Right on, Nyko!
