Friday the 13th - The Series: Season Two starts out with Micki and Ryan exploring an old house that they accidently found out that Uncle Louis (R.G. Armstrong) owned. They are trying to find something they think Louis is looking for. Now I'm not sure why they never stopped to think that maybe Louis was tricking them into finding it for him, but they're not always very smart. Even though Jack (Chris Wiggins) told them to stay put, Ryan and Micki just can't control their impulses. Rashid (Elias Zarou) tries his best to help the gang, but it's still not going to be easy.
Actually there's not much that is going to be easy this season, especially for Micki. I'm not sure I could even count how many times she almost dies. Throughout the season, they will have to deal with a wide variety of curses on the objects they are trying to retrieve and still stay one step ahead of Louis' ghost. Some of these objects include a watch that can stop time, a magic lantern that lets you go back in time through photographs (which made me think of a certain Red Dwarf episode), and a return of a mirror from last season. They have to go to extraordinary lengths too, including breaking into a mental institution. Now seriously, who in their right mind breaks into a mental institution? One of my personal favorite episodes was about a magic playhouse that survives on hate. I really liked the way everyone survived in that particular one.
True to the series, they still kill off a lot of non-main characters in the show. I'd say they average at least 1 death per episode. I'm still wondering how they have managed not to get in trouble with the police yet, considering how many bodies pile up around them, but I guess they just seem like trustworthy people.
Friday the 13th - The Series was a really great show. Season Two continues right where Season One left off. There are no big changes to the format or the characters, which is a really good thing. Their format worked, so they stuck with it. I highly recommend that you go pick up Friday the 13th - The Series: Season Two (and Season One if you don't already have it) today.
