From this point on, we finally see the supernaturally strong Jason. One of the first things that he does is punch through the friend's chest, ending up holding his heart on the other side. If that's not proof of Jason's new strength, I don't know what is. If you thought Jason was bad before, he's much worse now! The first thing Jason does is head home. Of course, there is yet another camp that has opened there, complete with 30 or so kids and a handful of counselors. That's plenty of fodder for Jason. At first, he was only after the bad counselors; the ones that ignored the kids to party. Now that he's come back from the grave though, he doesn't care who he targets, just as long as everyone ends up dead.
There are a lot of little things throughout the movie that just made me laugh, in a good way. Things like playing Alice Cooper's "Teenage Frankenstein" during the camper scene just made perfect sense. Can you think of a better song to describe Jason? One of my favorite parts was two little kids talking after Jason has killed most the counselors. One boy tells the other "We're dead meat. Real dead meat. So what were you going to be when you grew up?" Little touches like that just made the movie that much better.
Just like the previous movies, there are a lot of special features on the DVD to keep you entertained. There is yet another chapter in the Lost Tales of Camp Blood for your viewing pleasure, and another part of Crystal Lake Massacres Revisited. There's also a short, but very interesting feature called Meeting Mr. Voorhees. It is basically a concept that was never implemented that would have introduced us to Jason's father.
Friday the 13th: Part VI - Jason Lives Deluxe Edition is probably my favorite of the series so far. While it is still a slasher flick, there are quite a few humorous moments that make the film so much more. You should go pick it up today and continue your collection!
