The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! Volume 2: Captain America Reborn! continues the new series' buildup of the Marvel team as the team not only gains a couple of new members, but also, well, has a bit of trouble gelling as a team.

The DVD starts with an episode where Stark introduces the team of Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man and Wasp to the Avengers Mansion which will be their base of operations. When Enchantress, an Asgardian, starts manipulating the Hulk, he ends up deciding he doesn't like working on a team. When the rest of the Avengers have to take him on in order to hopefully contain him, even realising that he was under magical control doesn't keep the green hero from leaving the team. In the Avenger's hunt for the Hulk, on the other hand, they stumble upon a frozen Captain America whom they revive and have to convince that they are on the same side.

In the process, one of Cap's old foes reappears and while taking on Arnim Zola, Captain America gets a brief and unexpected ally in the Black Panther who has, for some reason, broken into the Avengers Mansion.

That reason becomes clear in Captain America Reborn!'s fourth episode, "Panther's Quest." Here the fighter approaches the other heroes and asks them to help get him back into his home country of Wakanda. We saw in an earlier episode that T'Challa's father was defeated by the brute Man Ape and, by the rules of the land, has become the new ruler. If T'Challa can get into the capital and win a challenge against Man Ape, then he can win back the throne.

The last two episodes on the disc are a two-part story called "Gamma World." Here The Master, a long-time Hulk villain, has created a Gamma Dome that turns everyone within it into Gamma Monsters. At first, the dome only encompasses the S.H.I.E.L.D. prison designed to hold such creatures. When the Avengers do actually stop this plot, they don't realize that The Master was using that event as a mere test and makes a much bigger dome that threatens to envelop the entire world.

When most of the Avengers actually succumb to the radiation, Hawkeye, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who was framed a traitor earlier in the series, realizes the only hope is to find the Hulk and enlist Bruce Banner. By the end of this adventure, the Avenger team seems to be complete when not only Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man and Wasp are on the team, but also Captain America, Black Panther, Hawkeye and Hulk rejoins the group.

Like the last volume, Captain America Reborn! contains only one special feature. This one is an interview with the show's creators as they discuss some of the characters and stories that can be expected in Season 2.

As the second part of the show's startup season, this collection of episodes does a great job of continuing the storylines set up in the first volume. While this DVD has a good stopping point, it also acts as a good lead in to the rest of the season. Like Volume 1, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! Volume 2: Captain America Reborn! is a must see for Marvel fans, especially those that like this particular super hero team.
