Time Life once again blesses our upcoming 2017 Holiday Season with The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes - Carol's Lost Christmas starring the innovative comedy of Carol Burnett supported by her brilliant team consisting of Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner. This one-disc DVD spotlights three originally aired television episodes, and showcases some of the most beloved moments from the Emmy award-winning The Carol Burnett Show.

The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes - Carol's Lost Christmas includes three shows dated December 4, 1967; December 15, 1969; and December 14, 1970. Special guest stars for these Christmas episodes spotlight Barbara Eden (I Dream of Jeannie), Jonathan Winters (Mork and Mindy), Leonard Nemoy (Star Trek), Garry Moore and Durward Kirby (The Garry Moore Show), Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle), the Bob Mitchell Singing Boys, Lifetime Achievement Award Winner from the Songwriters Hall of Fame Vocalist Steve Lawrence, and up-and-coming brilliant young singer Julie Budd.

Your favorite classic sketches from The Carol Burnett Show include "Questions & Answers," "V.I.P.s", the "Old Folks" with Bert and Molly, "Carol and Sis," Carol's "Charwoman;" and movie spoofs like "Mrs. Invisible Man," The Early Early Show's parody of Goldman's Boy, and the television show "To Tell the Truth." And, there's the vintage favorite of the Famous Courtroom Trial of "Mrs. Peter Piper starring Moore and Kirby, written by famed playwright Neil Simon, and first performed on The Garry Moore Show. And you don't want to miss Korman's impersonation of Tom Jones! Especially featured on this holiday disc are character sketches from Winters as "Maude Frickert," and a rather naughty Santa Claus.

Some of the special Christmas songs are Sleigh Ride, A Christmas Wish, Do You Know How Christmas Trees Are Grown?, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Let There Be Peace on Earth, and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

The Carol Burnett Show: The Lost Episodes - Carol's Lost Christmas does caution of certain flaws in sound and video, but as always, these are too slight to notice in my opinion, and never outweigh the brilliant content of the shows. I find the Carol Burnett Shows family entertainment, but should caution parents to use their own judgment for their younger family members. One oddity in this collection review occurs at the closing of Show #415 dated December 14, 1970, -- the guests and cast come out dressed in early 1800 Dickens type attire to close the show, but you never see that particular sketch. Apparently, this was edited out, but they kept the closing of the show.

You'll find yuletide poetry, Christmas carols, dancing Santas, and a visit to a boozing Kris Kringle at the North Pole in Carol's very first Christmas show. Carol's Lost Christmas is packed with hilarious entertainment that will spark your Christmas spirit, and is a perfect gift for a Carol Burnett collector at this special time of the year.
