2K Czech's upcoming 1950's crime epic Mafia II is getting a lot of support from all ends of the industry. The publisher recently made two announcements regarding this high-profile title. Mafia II is getting a Collector's Edition, and different retailers will be offering exclusive reservation incentives.

2K was kind enough to divulge the contents of Mafia II's Collector's Edition. The first thing that most gamers notice when it comes to Collector's Editions is the casing. Inside the SteelBook case are two pieces of art, featuring protagonist Vito Scaletta and supporting character Joe Barbaro. However, the true beauty of a Collector's Edition tends to be skin deep; the Collector's Edition of Mafia II will come stuffed with goodies. It will include a detailed tear-resistant map of Empire Bay, a CD containing the game's soundtrack, a 100-page hardcover art book, and the "Made Man Pack:" a bit of downloadable content that unlocks two exclusive vehicles and two special suits.

Pre-ordering any edition of Mafia II will net gamers a special reservation bonus. However, the specifics of the bonus are exclusive to the retailer. Most of the bonus packs are themed sets of vehicles and suits. Those who reserve Mafia II at GameStop will receive access to both the Vegas Pack and the War Hero Pack. Amazon is offering the Renegade Pack, while Best Buy's got the Greaser Pack. Those who pre-order Mafia II at Wal-Mart will receive a $10 Wal-Mart e-gift card.
