From Dusk Till Dawn: Bloodthirsty Again? |
The latest from Dreamcatcher puts you in the middle of a prison... and in the middle of a blood bath. From Dusk Till Dawn is loosely based on the movies of the same name. You take control of lead character Seth Gecko (a.k.a. George Clooney) and must make a jailbreak or face turning into a blood-thirsty vampire of your own.

From Dusk Till Dawn captures the essence of any vampire movie, and you certainly will feel the presence of the undead around every turn. The visuals in FDTD are outstanding, and you?ll come across many weird creatures on your quest for life. Added to the eye-candy is the ear-candy. In the same manner that the soundtrack can make or break a movie, playing this video game and listening to the eerie sounds coming from your speakers adds to the stimuli. FDTD also give you different sound options, taking full advantage of many speaker setups including 5.1 Surround.

In my preview copy, the action is kept fast, but when too many characters were on screen, there was a noticeable slowdown in frame-rate. In fact, when you play in First-Person Mode (instead of Third-Person), you will notice a bit of slowdown too (but not much). This will hopefully be fixed in the final version. The voice acting isn?t all that bad, but is unfortunately a bit slow in reacting to what is happening in the environment.

Other than that, From Dusk Till Dawn is an incredible game and should be a welcome addition for fans of the movie series. The game will also be a great way for newcomers to enter the world that Quentin Tarantino has created. Whether you like First-Person Shooters or Third-Person Thrillers, FDTD has a host of weaponry and a whole lot of action. Oh, and don?t forget my favorite... the slow-motion seamless scenes of you stabbing zombies through their once-beating hearts. How can you go wrong with that?
