Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!

Score: 75%
ESRB: Everyone
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Traveller's Tales
Media: CD/1
Players: 1
Genre: Action/ Adventure

Graphics & Sound:

The graphics in Toy Story 2 completely speak for themselves. Everything is cartoon animated, whether it is the characters or the levels Buzz goes through. Activision even added a little bonus to the game. When you pass a level and move on to the next, you will see an actual clip from the movie Toy Story 2.

The sounds are also there. Highlighting this category are the actual voices from your favorite characters, such as Buzz Lightyear, Hamm, and T-Rex, all with fun and entertaining catch phrases.

Gameplay:

The gameplay for Toy Story 2 has a 3-dimensional feel to it, much like Mario World for N64. Toy Story 2 pretty much follows the storyline in the movie. You are Buzz Lightyear, and you are off to save Woody, while going through numerous different levels. In each different level, you have to collect five Pizza Points, and you have different challenges to do that. One might be to go find a piece of Mr. Potato Head, or Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep. Any and all of the challenges are fun and entertaining. Also, if you find the items you are looking for, you will also get a helpful toy that gives you the extra edge you need. I won't say what any of them are, but here's a clue for one of them: Ya know how Buzz thinks he can fly?

Difficulty:

Because Toy Story 2 is really geared more towards kids, I found the difficulty to be pretty easy. The first level is treated like a tutorial, giving you an idea of what Buzz can and can't do. I did enjoy playing this game, but I think kids will enjoy it even more.

Game Mechanics:

Ok, here is where I have most of my beef with the game. One thing I really didn't like was the fact that it takes about five minutes to load up. All of the credits need to be shown in the beginning, of course, but I really don't want to sit through five minutes of them. The other thing I didn't like was, after a while, I felt a little sick from all the motion from the game. So therefore, I recommend taking breaks every once in a while. Other than those two things, I liked the game.
