The Walking Dead: A New Frontier: Episode 4 - Thicker than Water's flashback section harks to a time before the outbreak with Javier and David practicing in the batting cages. While it was after Javier was expelled from the league, it doesn't seem to be close to the family drama that players saw during the initial episode's opening sequence. Instead, we get some heartfelt moments between the brothers as David talks about his marital woes and the player, as Javier, has to choose their words wisely since promises kept or refused could lead to slightly different attitudes between the siblings.
Once the flashback is over though, we see the brothers escorted into Richmond's quarantine area and while David is quickly brought to Joan for further questioning, Javier is left to find his own way to freedom. Once out though, what can he do? Javier will be faced with several decisions that could influence the way that everyone from young Gabe, to Kate, or even Tripp and Eleanor feel about Javier. As the group talks through their situation, they work to form a plan that will hopefully get them all out of the town. The only real problem is what to do about David since he appears to be going on trial in front of the whole community.
In the scenes leading up to the town hall meeting/trial, Javier will run into Clementine once again and we get to see another snippet of her time between the past two seasons. In this flashback, we see her just after being expelled by New Frontier and forced to leave AJ behind, and once again, Javier will have to make a tough decision with the hopes of helping Clem learn some vital information. Interestingly enough, you can leave this encounter without learning that information, and it will be good to see how that particular story arc wraps up if you don't know the details that another choice would give you.
