Pelican?s
Power Brick includes two parts: a cord to connect it to the PSP and the
Power Brick itself. The
Power Brick is about 2.5 square inches, and approximately one-half inch thick. This makes it take up about the same amount of space as two UMDs. (If you have a carrying case or bag with room for a few UMDs, there?s a chance you may also be able to carry the
Power Brick around with you ? otherwise, it fits comfortably in a pocket.)
Instead of including an adapter for the Power Brick, Pelican wisely made it compatible with the PSP AC Adapter. This means you can charge it up with your original adapter for your PSP, or even a car charger! The Power Brick stores twice as much power as the PSP?s internal battery, which means that it also takes twice as long to fully charge (4 hours). However, once charged, you can play your PSP for twice as long as you can with the internal battery. That means that if you charge your PSP?s internal battery and the Power Brick fully, you can play for three times the PSP?s standard play time.
Another interesting feature of the Power Brick is that you can actually play with your PSP, charge your PSP?s internal battery, and charge the Power Brick all at the same time. Simply plug the PSP charger into its outlet, use that to charge the Power Brick, and plug the included cord into the Power Brick and into your PSP. Now you?re ready to play games and charge both batteries at the same time. Please note that if you?re playing while you?re charging, you should expect the total required charge time to be longer.
