Reviewing any I Dream of Jeannie season compilation (with the exception of the first) is really a piece of cake (but don't tell my editor that because I'm late posting this one without any good reason) because all you need to do is reiterate that the show is about Tony and Jeannie, an astronaut and his genie gal pal respectively, and all the crazy, zany trouble they get into because, well, they're an astronaut and a genie.

I don't have to mention anything else. No extras ... just the episodes.

There you go. End of review.

But wait. I forgot to mention the episodes, 26 in all. I could list them, but lists are boring. The best of the bunch are "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Jeannie or the Tiger." In the former episode, Jeannie transforms a specially trained astro chimp that's about to be shot into space into a human astronaut (F-Troop's Larry Storch). Insert amazingly inane hijinx and pratfalls here. In the latter episode, Jeannie blinks her kookie sister into modern day Coco Beach because she hasn't seen her for, oh, about 2000 years. What she doesn't realize is that sis will want to take over Jeannie's life, her beau, and just about everything else she has. Both Jeannie characters are played by Barbara Eden. Jeannie's sister reprises her role in numerous other episodes from Season Three, with similar hilarity.

These episodes really play up the fun of the premise, especially "My Master The Weakling," wherein Tony and his pal Roger need to be toughened up and are turned over to new NASA fitness guru Commander Kiski (played by legendary comedian Don Rickles). Fearing that Tony might suffer too much under the grueling Kiski, Jeannie turns him into a carbon copy of a doting mother, to hilarious results.

Okay, you get it; review done.

Oh, but you need to know the other guest stars, because they change each season. For the third season, the guest stars include: Bob Denver (Gilligan of Gilligan's Island), Ted Cassidy (Lurch from The Addams Family), Paul Lynde (Hollywood Squares), and Mike Farrell (BJ Hunnicut from M*A*S*H).

And now, yes, the review is done.

Not! There has to be a cute close.

You don't have to be trapped in your bottle -- like Jeannie's sister did to Jeannie -- to appreciate I Dream of Jeannie, the Third Season (but, hey, it wouldn't be too bad with HD TV, surround sound, and a cooler full of Cervesas) but if you do try that, make sure to liberally sprinkle emails to your friends and leave the key under the mat.

Aaaah ... done at last. Now you can tell my editor. ;-)
