NC Soft Launches Two Preorder Campaigns Company: NC Soft Product: City of Heroes, Lineage II Ever play that game where someone asks you, 'If you could have any super power, what would it be?' For years people have only had the chance to dream about how their lives would change with super powers, but now NC Soft is offering them the chance to live out their super fantasies. Set to launch this spring, City of Heroes will allow players to live out their comic book fantasies in an online world populated by other super heroes, heroines and villains. Players will be able to choose from a variety of superpowers and battle it out with the evil found in Paragon City. In order to help spur Paragon City's super populace, NC Soft is offering a special preorder campaign. When players pre-purchase the game from retailers, they will receive a special in-game 'prestige power' which is unique to each retail version. These powers will only be granted to those who pre-order the game. Players will also receive a free, limited-edition City of Heroes digital comic book. As if that wasn't enough, those who pre-order will also be eligible to participate in the City of Heroes beta test. If the life of a superhero isn't your thing, then perhaps a life in a fantasy world is. Also set to launch this spring, Lineage II is the prequel to the world's most popular online game, Lineage. Here, players will be able to choose from a variety of classes and race and participate in a stunning fantasy world. Players will be able to meet and adventure with other players from around the world, tame dragons and lay siege to castles. Those who pre-order Lineage II from retailers will receive a set of four collectible trading cards depicting different character classes found in the game. The Lineage II soundtrack, composed by Bill Brown, is also included. If the complete soundtrack is anything like the stunning samples found on the webpage, the pre-order would be worth the CD alone. As with the City of Heroes pre-order campaign, purchasers will be eligible to participate in the upcoming Lineage II beta test.
