EA Comes to Baton Rouge, Louisiana!

Game Vortex has just learned that EA Sports will be opening a test facility in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area, our hometown! The announcement will be made later on today by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. This is very exciting news for all of us locally and for the videogame industry in general. BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of the largest video game companies in the world will operate a testing facility at LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced this morning.

EA SPORTS will open it's North American Test Center on the south campus of LSU, creating 20 full-time jobs and nearly 200 part-time positions, Jindal said.

EA is the company that produces Madden Football, Tiger Woods Gold, NASCAR, and NCAA Football.

For the past two years, officials have been working on recruiting video gaming companies to our area to take advantage of the state's tax incentive program.
