And LucasArts's big announcement is...

... Steam and lots of monkeys.

After a weekend of tweeted hints, rumors and speculation, LucasArts has finally unveiled its plans to revive its classic PC franchises by making them available on Steam.

Beginning Wednesday, July 8, the following LucasArts titles will be available for download via Steam, Valve's online delivery and management platform for the PC.

  • Armed and Dangerous
  • Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
  • Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
  • LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
  • LOOM
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Republic Commando
  • Star Wars Starfighter
  • The Dig
  • Thrillville: Off the Rails

Additionally, Telltale will premiere the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island, the next installment of the Monkey Island franchise Tuesday, July 7 on PC. The WiiWare release will follow in the coming weeks.

That's not all... LucasArts will also release the re-imagined Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition via Steam (and other distribution channels) and Xbox Live Arcade on July 15.

LucasArts plans to re-release more of its back catalog of titles in the next few months. Fans are encouraged to follow LucasArt's Twitter feed for future announcements.
