Namco/Bandai Renegotiates Their Knights Contract Company: BANDAI NAMCO Games America, Inc. Product: Knights Contract Knights Contract is the title of a new third-person action title from Tekken maker Namco/Bandai. Set in a time of swords and magic, Knights Contract looks to blend Devil May Cry action with a Dragon Age aesthetic. Think DeathStalker, but with real action. Not due until 2011, Knights Contract is the story of Heinrich, an immortal, and Gretchen, an undead witch who must travel together to stop the evil Dr. Faust. The two must work together in co-operative combat action if they hope to restore the land to peace and rid the world of the black spell of death. The catch is Heinrich can't die (that's the side effect of being immortal), so it's up to Heinrich to monitor Gretchen's health at all times to ensure the unlikely pairs' survival. Namco/Bandai promises over-the-top combos with Heinrich's scythe and explosive magic spells from Gretchen and from the looks of some screens that were released, plenty of gore with special team-up attacks. Described as a "brutal and spectacular fantasy horror," we hope the Afro Samurai developer can keep their promise.
