Company of Heroes Online Private Beta Launches
Company: THQ
Product: Company of Heroes Online
Do you fancy yourself a Real-Time-Strategy (RTS) fan? Don't have enough money to buy Starcraft 2? Don't worry, THQ has got you covered. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Company of Heroes Online is the free-to-play version of Relic Entertainment's WWII RTS darling and starting July 26th, you can start ordering troops and killing Nazis with the best of them in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 modes across 17 different maps during the launch of the online private beta. The entire single-player campaign is also available for no additional charge for solo players.

20,000 beta keys will be given out to sign-up participants through IGN Entertainment's FilePlanet.com. You had better be quick though. Sign-ups only last for four days, and then IGN shuts off the giveaway machine on July 30th.

Sutton Trout, Vice President of Digital Content for IGN explains why FilePlanet was chosen as the go-to source for beta keys:
"FilePlanet is known as the preeminent site for gamers to gain access to the hottest game Beta tests and THQ's Company of Heroes is of huge interest to our audience. We expect those twenty thousand keys for the game to go very quickly."

For more information, check out FilePlanet.com and the Company of Heroes Online official website to sign up for your own beta key. Company of Heroes Online is still scheduled for a Fall release so if you can't get on the beta now, you won't have to wait much longer.
