Digital Dad's Day...
Company: Trion Worlds
Product: Rift
If you're wondering what to get for your hip MMORPG-playing father this year, you might want to consider Rift. Not only is the game awesome and you could use some extra help sealing those Death rifts, but Trion Worlds is running a sale for Father's Day. In addition to lower prices, purchase Rift online from the Official Rift website and you'll get a couple of in-game perks: Novitiate's Phylactery, a trinket that increases all experience gained by 5% until level 20 and the in-game title, "The Risen," to help distinguish you from the other Ascended.

This weekend only (well, specifically, Friday, June 17th through Sunday, June 19th), you can purchase Rift for your old man at drastically reduced prices. For dads unfamiliar with Rift, you can purchase the Digital Standard Edition for just $24.99 USD or the Digital Collectors' Edition for just $31.99 USD.

If you're ahead of the game and your dad is already in the midst of a 7-day trial, you can purchase the Digital Trial-Upgrade Edition for a mere $9.99 or the Digital Trial-Upgrade Collectors' Edition for only $16.99, then you would need to add the monthly fee for additional game time separately.

If you're trying to decide whether to get your dad the Standard or go for the Collectors' Edition, it comes down to the packed-in extras. The Collectors' Edition has everything the Standard Edition does, but it also features an Ancient Tartagon Mount - a two-headed turtle which matches the speed of your fastest mount and is only available in the Collectors' Edition, a Bogling Wastrel, which is a unique pet that sets you apart from the other Ascended and a Collector's Satchel, with a capacity of 24 slots. The inside tip is that bags of this size are hard to come by and make the game a lot more fun and less tedious - especially if your dad is the type that tends to collect anything of value when playing MMORPGs. In my opinion, the big bag totally makes the Collectors' Edition worth the bump in price.

Still not sure? Why not just get him the free trial and throw in a personalized coupon good for his choice of an Trial-Upgrade or a car wash/wax... Just please, don't get him a tie or socks this year.
