4,093+ Zombies to Overrun Austin Texas
Product: Dead 4 Life Run
Want to work on your distance running while you wait for life to turn all Resident Evil? Sign-up quick and this trial-run could just get you a place in Guinness' Book of World Records, while it's still evaluated as entertaining information, rather than based on its ability to stop an oncoming undead corpse...

The zombie apocalypse is coming to Austin, Texas October 27th as TOEVK Enterprises hosts an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest zombie gathering during their zombie-themed Adventure Run. The 5k obstacle and mud-filled course will have runners dodging the undead as they race for the finish line.

Beyond advocating a healthy lifestyle, TOEVK also has resisted large sponsors in order to focus on local business in an attempt to keep their events tied to the grassroots of the host community. (Keeping Austin weird? Check.)

This attempt has been officially registered with Guinness World Records. The current record stands at 4,093 zombies that came together for the New Jersey Zombie Walk on October 30, 2010. Tom White, president of TOEVK, said he is positive that record will be broken.

"We host non-traditional, athletic-based competition for entertainment and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle. Our events are a healthy and affordable alternative to traditional fitness programs and provide participants with another measuring stick by which to test themselves physically. We are looking forward to making Austin, Texas the official Zombie Capital of America this Halloween."
- Stephen White, CEO of TOEVK

Registration for the run is open now at the official Dead 4 Life website (link below). People can register online to run the race for $70 or register to be a zombie for $25. Runners will wear life flags that registered zombies will try to snag as participants navigate the course.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners who finish the race with the fastest times and at least one life flag still attached. The grand prize is a trip for two to Las Vegas, which will be awarded through a general drawing that all participants can enter.
