Spike TV Awards Games that are the Shnizzle!
Product: City of Heroes/Halo 2/Fable
City of Heroes, published by NCsoft and developed by Crytpic Studios, came away a winner at the 2004 Spike TV Video Game Awards. City of Heroes was named the ?Best Massively Multi-Player Game,? finishing ahead of the other nominees in the category, EverQuest II and Final Fantasy XI.

City of Heroes was also nominated for ?Most Addictive Game,? which was won by Burnout 3: Takedown.

Microsoft Game Studios is also proud to announce that Halo 2 and Fable received a total of three awards at Spike TV?s Video Game Awards. Of the six categories in which MGS games were nominated, Halo 2 took home the award for ?Best First Person Action Game,? while Jason Jones and Bungie Studios, developers of Halo 2, grabbed the award for ?Designer of the Year.? Fable, developed by Lionhead studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios, earned the award for ?Best Role-Playing Game.? Halo 2 was also a nominee in the ?Best Graphics,? ?Best Soundtrack,? and ?Game of the Year? categories.


The Spike TV Video Game Awards, shown live and hosted by Snoop Dogg, was watched by an estimated five million viewers. Winners for the Spike TV Video Game Awards were determined by votes from Spike TV?s Advisory Board, made up of a group of gaming industry experts, and consumer voting. Viewers exclusively determined the winner in three award categories -- these are the Fan Favorite awards of ?Most Addictive Game? and ?Best Gaming Website,? as well as the Viewers? Choice award of ?Best Gaming Publication.? For the first time this year, Virgin Mobile subscribers were able to vote for Spike TV?s Video Game Awards 2004 nominees directly from the Virgin Extras Menu on their wireless phones.

City of Heroes, which was recently named ?2004 PC or Console Game of the Year? by Billboard Magazine, is available at most North American computer game retail outlets at a suggested retail price of $39.99 that includes the first month of online game play. After the first month, players will be charged a monthly subscription fee of $14.95.

The City of Heroes: Collectors DVD Edition includes enhancements to the game, a limited edition Statesman HeroClix figure and other exclusive collectibles, is available at a suggested retail price of $49.99. 60-day game-time cards are also available at many retailers for a suggested retail price of $29.99. Current City of Heroes subscribers can purchase the City of Heroes: Collectors DVD Edition and receive 30-days of free play credited to their account. The game is rated Teen by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
