The Big Apple on a Silver Platter?
Company: Atari
Product: Tycoon City: New York
We've seen a lot of simulations on the market... sim this or tycoon that... Now, Deep Red and Atari get real, with Tycoon City: New York.

Tycoon City: New York is the first and only Tycoon game that simulates a real-world city and will give players the ability to create and customize over 100 types of major businesses. You'll get to take on a number of roles as you build your reputation as a Tycoon. Want to try your hand at running a hot nightclub, overseeing a media conglomerate or open a lucrative Broadway theater? Give it a shot. You know what they say... If you can make it there...

Tycoon City: New York allows players to strive to reach Tycoon status by building and operating a variety of exciting businesses and events, from restaurants and fashion shops to theatres and night clubs, aspiring to provide spectacular events such as huge rock concerts in Central Park and New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Times Square. As they progress, players will be rewarded by unlocking many of the iconic monuments of New York City, including the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building.

Although the game is modeled after New York City, you're not limited by reality - you can place buildings anywhere to create your own version of New York City if you're not happy with the current version. You'll get to create and customize over 100 types of major businesses and upgrade businesses with hundreds of improvements. You can increase the beauty, capacity and appeal of storefronts to attract greater crowds and drive profits, create and customize original businesses with successful chain locations across the city and view the reactions of thousands of NYC citizens, each with individual traits and tastes. You can even erect the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and other world-famous New York landmarks.

The world will be yours for the taking - Well, at least one very major city - later this February (2/21/06 according to Gamestop's pre-order).
