Wedding Dash: Dash Off to a Wedding This Spring!
Company: Brighter Minds

Well, Brighter Minds is back with another iteration of the Dash series and we couldn't be happier. Wedding Dash places the player in the role of Quinn, buddy to Flo from Diner Dash: Flo on the Go, who has recently gotten roped into being the wedding planner for a friend. Things go really well and Quinn gets new customers, turning it into a career for her. It's up to you to make sure that career stays on track and the customers and wedding attendees have a good time.

You start off small potatoes, but rise in status, changing to nicer locations along the way. There are 50 levels of gameplay and when I say this, these are not short and easy levels. Some of them are really, really tough! You can embark on Career mode or Endless Reception, which is basically just surviving as long as you can while an endless number of wedding attendees make your life miserable.

First things first, you have to meet your clients' needs for their wedding before the actual wedding can take place. You'll be given a brief rundown of the bride and groom's likes and dislikes and from there, it's a multiple choice game. You may be selecting their food, their honeymoon destination and/or their flowers. They mix things up. Sometimes, you are told some parameters about the food and you must select from three appetizers, three main courses and three cakes. Sometimes, it's about whether they want a tropical honeymoon or crazy nightlife. Sometimes it's about the style or color of the flowers and cake. You never know, but your job is to select the correct items for the wedding and then call in the order. If you selected correctly, you get 100 points for each correct choice (up to 300 points per mini-game). This starts you off with a point boost when begin the wedding. And here's where the real fun starts!

Your bride and groom sit at a table at the top of the screen. Guests enter and it is your job to seat them, preferably next to or not nearby the people they specify. If you do, you get bonus points. Seat them next to someone they don't like and they will grumble and you'll get fewer points. Then, you take their gift to the bride and groom, then serve them an appetizer, an entrée and cake, in that order. Once they are done, they mosey to the dance floor. Sounds simple? Not really. Sometimes you may have to wait on the cook to finish prepping the food. Sometimes the A/V has issues and the music dies, forcing Quinn to go fix the problem. When the bridesmaids bust out into a reception-ruining fight, Quinn has to break it up. She also has to fend off bugs and put out kitchen fires. It's crazy I tell you! Then there are the troublesome guests, like the crying old aunt and the drunkard uncle, both of whom make other guests miserable. Quinn has to quiet them down or the other guests get angry.

Basically, you have a point goal and you can only make this goal if you don't screw up too much. Keeping the wedding guests happy leads to bonus points and you'll reach your goal. Not realizing the music is off and the people on the dance floor are mad lowers your score. If you are super good, you can go for the expert goal, but like I said, this game is tough and personally, I didn't achieve expert all that often. If you don't make your goal, you simply replay the level.

Wedding Dash looks to be yet another great addition to the Dash series. The only problem that I had was the lag that I experienced. My computer was more than adequate as far as the minimum system requirements, yet there was definitely a lag on my mouse clicks, and it was far worse if I had it on full screen. This may be an issue that will be fixed with the final version and I do hope so, because as any Dash player knows, time is of the essence.

If you've been a fan of the other versions of the Dash games, you'll love Wedding Dash. Flo even makes an appearance! If you are unsure, you can download a demo to try it out, but fans of time management games don't need to bother. Just pick this one up.
