Graphics & Sound:
Sweet. The polygon character builds for International Superstar Soccer Pro ‘98 are very nicely done, and animated very well. The Motion Capture is top notch. I really couldn’t find any faults with the graphics and sound effects. The crowds are nicely animated and they cheer for you, and the stadiums look really good.

Gameplay:
There are many different game modes that you can select in International Superstar Soccer Pro ‘98, such as Exhibition Mode (practice game), Cup Mode (go for the World Cup), and a training mode (a great place to hone your skills).

Difficulty:
The computer players are tough, and occasionally seem cheesy since they have no problems stripping me of the ball! In ISSP 98, there are various difficulty settings for you to choose from. Find one that suits your skill level and away you go!

Game Mechanics:
Pretty good. You can jump from player to player to use the character nearest to the ball, like most sports games. I really enjoyed the animations, such as the injured players and the officials. To be honest, I’m not the world’s biggest soccer fan, but I had a lot of fun with this title. If you are a soccer nut, I highly recommend International Superstar Soccer Pro ‘98. If you are a casual video game sports player, give ISSP 98 a try -- I doubt you’ll find a better soccer game on the PSX. Good show, Konami. “GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!”
