The graphics and sound in Nitrous Oxide earn an A++. Rockin’ out to the techno music of The Crystal Method, the scenes are always in motion. N₂O is all art and action, and there’s no competition.

N₂O: Nitrous Oxide is a game for anyone who likes speed. Shooting enemies while spinning in a wide tunnel gives the player an adrenaline boost. The challenge increases as you try to collect coins (credits) that serve you in the level's end with extra lives or firewalls. Enjoy the game by yourself or with a friend in split screen mode. You can save by password or onto a memory card, but with N₂O, you also save all of your special settings as well (see Game Mechanics). Also, depending on your score, there are bonus levels to defeat.

N₂O is easy for those who love this type of game. The only real drawback is that the screen gets cluttered with everything... enemies, crossfire, etc. You know where you are going, but you can’t see where you are moving or what you are doing. Braking helps, but you get a boost of intense speed that makes you crash into an enemy. Make sure you get the red mushrooms for shield power to ease the difficulty -- the only difficulty. Hey, it’s a bitchin’ game. What can I say?

You can highly customize your button settings, along with nearly everything else. N₂O: Nitrous Oxide also supports the Dual Shock Analog compatible controller, so it’s a real joy to play. You can customize your tunnel runner by shape, color, and pattern. You can also choose lens type/flare, camera rolling, and more. You can keep the music and sound effects (highly recommended) or take it away. Pick which music format you prefer, with one song or all tracks. This game is so loaded with options, you can even choose your type of Pause. Whew, I’m out of breath! Buy the game and see what I left out. You won’t be sorry.
