Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking has some of the best graphics that I've seen on the Game Boy Color system. With careful attention to detail and color, the game looks great. The sound... well that needs a lot of work, but the game looks great. There is enough detail in the bikes and riders that you know what you're looking at and how it relates to what's in the surroundings (because you can see that too). If you like good looking games, then you are going to love Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking.

What Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking offers in game play is variety. What you have is 64 freestyle levels on over 25 tracks with which to do over 50 tricks in 4 modes of play. What you also get is complex controls, slow game speed, and a difficult challenge. However, the game is fun. While not the best bike game available, it's hard to go wrong with BXS. As I said, the tricks are somewhat complicated, the game runs slowly, and the overall difficulty is challenging, but the game is still a lot of fun.

In Training mode, you do nothing more than learn how to play the game; however, you must complete Training mode in order to unlock the Tournament mode. You must also complete Career mode to get into the Tournament mode. In Career mode, you compete in a large number of competitions to emerge at the top of the Pro ranks. The Tournament mode is just that, a tournament (and a tough one at that). You must score in the top three or so to advance in each competition. Last, and certainly not least, is the Single Run. Here, you can practice all the events that you find in Career and Tourney modes. There is no battery backup, so everything is saved via password.

I found Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking to be a difficult game. Not only are the controls difficult, but the game is also somewhat difficult to beat. This can be seen as a good thing, because it keeps you interested in the game. If you have the patience to fail a few times, you should not have any trouble with BXS.

Aside from difficult controls, slow play, and game difficulty, Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking is great. It looks great and is fun to play. Mechanically, the tricks are difficult to perform and due to the slowness of gameplay, it's even more difficult. With a little simpler move list and a little faster game speed, Road Champs: BXS Stunt Biking would be a definite 'Bring It On!'.
